FIRST ANNUAL KEY BISCAYNE FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2024 DATES AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Key Biscayne, FL (October 16, 2023) – The Key Biscayne Film Festival announced today that the first annual Key Biscayne Film Festival will be held February 2 – 3, 2024.

Fiscally sponsored by the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, the Key Biscayne Film Festival is spearheaded by co-founders (and Key locals) Isabel Cluster and Maite Thornton.

“We created the Key Biscayne Film Festival to serve the community with quality cultural entertainment that can be as diverse in demographics as we are,” says Isabel Cluster. “As a filmmaker, I know how important it is to engage with an audience and the live, shared experience of watching a movie in a group, so I wanted to create another avenue for that kind of engagement.”

The Key Biscayne Film Festival has announced a Call for Submissions for films related to Island Cultures, their diasporas, and the Ocean. There will be 4 Awards & Prizes: Best Feature (Islands and Oceans), Best Short (Islands and Oceans), Best Short Film (Spotlight on Youth), and Best Film (Spotlight on Key Biscayne).

“I have always had a love for films,” adds Maite Thornton. “The KB film festival is a passion project that has allowed me to tap into my production background to help create something special for an island I have called home for more than 20 years.”
