    The Village of Empathy platform seeks to engender a culture of civic engagement and social change among members of the Key Biscayne and Greater Miami-Dade County communities. Our vision is to have a community that understands the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and inspires those principles in current and future leaders. We also aim to develop a population of youth that are empathetic and desire to make a positive impact in the local, greater, and global community.

  • Sister City Initiative

    In 2013, building upon Key Biscayne Police Chief Charles Press’ decade long service to Liberty City, the Village of Key Biscayne, Miami Children’s Initiative, Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Himan Brown Charitable Trust, and Chief Press Foundation partnered to create the Sister City Initiative. The objective is to join the Village of Key Biscayne and neighboring Liberty City to provide better outcomes for the children & families of Liberty City while providing opportunities for residents of each community to grow, learn, and care about each other.

  • MCI Food Co-op

    Key Biscayne resident Pat Molinari merged her experience and knowledge as a caterer with her interests in helping the larger community to create the Liberty City Food Co-op which provides more than 100 Liberty City residents with fresh and healthy produce twice a month via a pop up “farmers market” where residents are able to pick up their produce for the next two weeks.

  • Key Biscayne Lighthouse Run

    The Annual Key Biscayne Lighthouse 10K/5K Run starts and finishes near the base of the historical Cape Florida Lighthouse in Bill Baggs State Park. Both races run through the State Park and the beautiful Village of Key Biscayne.

The Key Biscayne Community Foundation helps people who are philanthropic and who understand the value of charitable work to give effectively through donor funds.

As a donor, you start a fund with the Community Foundation to support your many charitable causes. Your gift is invested and grants from your Fund support the projects that matter to you, and the grants carry your name.
