See the Operation Pedro Pan Exhibit at HistoryMiami

Now that the holidays are over, there might not be much to keep you busy. That’s why this is the perfect time to come along on the community center’s trip to see the Operation Pedro Pan Exhibit at HistoryMiami and the Bayside Marketplace. It will be a great way to relax and enjoy the day, have something to eat, shop and spend time with friends. With all that going for it, you don’t want to miss out!

When Are We Going?

The trip will be on Jan. 15, and the bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. Busses for these kinds of trips leave promptly, so make sure you have good arrangements that can get you to the bus in time. You don’t want to be late and miss out on what promises to be a great trip. Your friends will probably be going, too, and if they aren’t you’ll have a great chance to make some more friends as you all travel to a fun destination. Whether you’ve been there before and want to go back, or it’s your first time seeing something like the exhibit, you’re sure to appreciate everything there is to see at the destination.

Imagine, if you will, being forced to leave your homeland when you are just a child. You have to live in a foreign country and your parents can’t come with you. That was what happened to over 14,000 boys and girls from Cuba. They came to the U.S. as part of a refugee exodus from 1960 to 1962. The exhibit tells their stories and how the families made such a life-changing decision. It also tells the story of what happened to the children. After the exhibit, there will be lunch at Bayside Marketplace.

The Trip is Scheduled for Jan. 15 and Costs $13.

Where Do We Meet?

The bus will be leaving at 9:30 a.m. from the Key Biscayne Community Center, 10 Village Green Way, Key Biscayne. It’s easy to find, and if you have questions or you aren’t sure how to get there, you can give the center a call. Someone there will be happy to help you find your way so you can get signed up and make it to the bus on time.
