The Key Biscayne Women’s Giving Circle is devoted to growing philanthropy among women, with the aim of identifying and financially supporting programs for women and/or children in need throughout Miami-Dade County. This year the Key Biscayne Women’s Giving Circle is delighted to support three not-for-profits.
- The Miami Choral Academy
- The Holtz Children’s Hospital – ArtCares program
- Design and Architecture Senior High School – DASH
The Miami Choral Academy is a tuition-free after school program that creates a little league-type network of choral ensembles for children from inner-city communities of Miami-Dade County. In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Miami Choral Academy seeks to make positive academic and social change in children from underserved Miami communities through intensive choral ensemble participation, a music integration program, and the creation of a Parent Choral Association. The Miami Choral Academy’s music integration program focuses on the integration of fundamental concepts shared between music and math, language arts, history, movement, theater and visual arts.
ArtCares, based in Miami, is comprised of a group of volunteers who understand the psychological, emotional and physical benefits of engaging in the creative process through Art. ArtCares provides much needed services to children undergoing a difficult phase or trauma in their life. The goal of these dedicated volunteers is to provide a sense of relief and hope to children by engaging them in a positive, gentle and safe creative process. We are supporting ArtCares efforts at The Holtz Children’s Hospital through the purchase of much needed art supplies. Located at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, Holtz Children’s Hospital is affiliated with the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.
Design and Architecture Senior High School – DASH offers specialized training in design and architecture through five ‘strands’, or areas of study: Architecture, Industrial Design, Communications Design, Fashion Design and Entertainment Technology. Funds raised will be allocated to the school’s most needy and talented students.
