Coral City Foundation
“Building Civic Pride through Biodiversity”
The Coral City Foundation’s mission is to connect the public to Miami’s coastal ecosystems using underwater livestreaming cameras and technology to document, protect, research, restore, and raise awareness of Miami’s coastal marine ecosystems. It was founded in 2023 under the fiscal sponsorship of the Key Biscayne Community Foundation.
Since 2020, the Coral City Camera has connected nearly 3 million viewers to Miami’s urban coral ecosystem, documenting over 200 fish species and offering the most equitable opportunity to observe Biscayne Bay’s biodiversity in a project that is equal parts art, science, technology, and education.
