The magic begins July 8, 2019! The camp is generously sponsored by the Michael Scholz Memorial Charitable Fund, the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs along with the Trust and Board of Commissioners, and the members of Biscayne Nature Center.
The camp gives underprivileged inner-city children the experience of a lifetime. The four week adventure begins with a swim test so the counselors can tailor their approach to building skills and water confidence. Many of these children have never seen or been in the ocean before! They learn about climate change, sea level rise and resiliency during a school year project with BNC. Now they will enjoy a 4 week immersive experience in the natural environment.
