Brooking Kicks-Off New Season with the Launch of his Foundation in North Texas

All children need the support of safe, permanent families who will love, nurture, protect and guide them. They should be able to take certain things for granted – that they have constant, loving parents; that their home will always be their home; that their brothers and sisters will be near; and that their neighborhoods and schools are familiar places.

For Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Keith Brooking, championing for foster children is a calling that evolved from knowing first hand children who do not have that kind of permanency. Brooking was inspired to create The Keith Brooking Children’s Foundation to serve the needs of foster children by his mother, who was a foster parent while he was growing up. Brooking established the organization in 2003 in metro Atlanta where it has continued to thrive and evolve each year and is currently serving foster children at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.

Since Brooking joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2009, he has become the heart and soul of the defense and the team’s emotional leader. He’s fired up to broaden his passion for Dallas/Fort Worth outside of the football arena and into the community. This season, The Keith Brooking Children’s Foundation will partner with local agencies to begin serving the needs of foster children in North Texas. The success of the program in Texas is certain with the unwavering sense of community and spirit of giving in Dallas/Fort Worth.
